OVERALL APPEARANCE:
Rumpelstiltskin has dark hair that is shoulder length and goes from slightly curled in the Enchanted Forest to straight in Storybrooke. Rumpelstiltskin's face as the Dark One is slightly cracked and with a slight golden tinge, in Storybrooke his skin and look has gone back to normal due to the Dark One magic not taking effect anymore.
In Storybrooke his clothing style is very different to his clothing style in The Enchanted Forest, his style in Storybrooke his style is mainly suits and ties alot of the time and walks with a cane. In the Enchanted Forest his style is more flared style clothes and a fancy golden tie, in the Enchanted Forest he walks without a cane.

OVERALL PERSONALITY:
In the Enchanted Forest Rumplestilitskin is - at first - a humble peasant, spinner of straw. Rumple is chosen by The Dark One as his next in line. He inherits a dagger with his name emblazoned on it and all the evil, the powers, and the ruthlessness of The Dark One. His motto is, "magic comes with a price" as he conjures deals with high stakes prices - like children.
But Rumple has a soft side - a charming side - a vulnerable side and one of his prizes - Belle who he has taken as his servant - falls for that part of him and Rumple falls back. He believes that True Love is the most powerful magic of all and he plays a big part in uniting Charming and Snow. From their hair he creates a True Love potion and has Charming hide it in the belly of the beast to keep it safe. For doing this Rumple gives Charming the ring that will get him back to Snow.
Rumple likes to play all sides - he is both friend and foe to everyone. He is responsible for the curse that sent them all to Storybrooke and separates Charming and Snow. As part of his scheme he puts the blame on Regina whose motives are more vengeful than his own but he makes a deal with Regina that assures him a prosperous and easy life. As Mr. Gold this deal comes through.
In Storybrooke he knows everyone's identity and he still has his magical powers. Mr. Gold owns a pawn shop and he is a lawyer - two enterprises that keep him in the deal making business. He spins gold - is the richest, most feared resident - some say he owns the town.

HISTORY:
Rumpelstiltskin was known as The Dark One in the Enchanted Forest and was all powerful and feared, however, Rumple was lonely and decided to bring someone to his castle to work for him looking after it. Rumpelstiltskin went to a kingdom and brought someone named Belle back with him. Rumpelstiltskin and Belle get to know each other and soon fall in love
After sending Belle away, she returns and uses true love's kiss to break the curse of the Dark One. Rumpel's powers remain and they stay living in the castle happily. Rumpel and Belle later decide to make a change that will forever show their true love for each other. They become blood-tied to each other and transferred their blood into each other binding them forever. They later have a son who they name Baelfire.
After the curse is cast they are sent to Storybrooke, where Rumple, now known as Mr. Gold and Belle live together with their son Baelfire or Neal. Gold still has his old memories, but, no magic and works as a pawnsbroker and a lawyer.
Gold attempts to help Casey and Henry convince Regina of who she really is and her destiny. Gold gets Belle to help using the books in her library, as well as items at the pawn shop. Zelena has Belle kidnapped just before the curse is broken.
After the curse breaks, Rumple knows that Belle is still alive, due to their blood ties and can feel it although, he is still unable to find her in this town. Rumple takes care of Neal while continuing to look for any sign as to where Belle is.
When Belle and Rumple are finally reunited he gets his magic back and is able to use it. Rumple realises that Belle has no memories and using true love's kiss to break the curse and bring back the memories that Belle once had. Rumple then learns who took her and the exact reason why.

RP SAMPLE Rapunzel knew she was probably treading on dangerous water with this lie to the Queen, but, she had to try and test it. Unlike the rest of the citizens of the Forest, she hadn't had much dealings with Regina, but, she tried to face her on her own terms.
Rapunzel began to panic as Regina knocked the brush out of her hand and she knew something back was going to happen. Rapunzel was suddenly flipped upside down by the Queen, "You know, I kind of like this." Rapunzel said, with her arms folded as she looked around her tower. Rapunzel glared as she bent down to her face level, Rapunzel spat at the Queen as she continued to stay there.
Rapunzel knew what was coming and tried to get out of the position she was currently in. Rapunzel swung her arms at Regina as she gripped onto her hair, Rapunzel let Regina cut her hair and then watched as she dropped the scissors.
Rapunzel suddenly had an idea, as Regina bent down to pick up her hair she suddenly allowed herself to drop from the position silently and then she suddenly grabbed an item from the far end of her tower and then suddenly snuck up behind Regina and whacked her with it, knocking her out.
